Anxious about your flight?
We can help!

AS HUMANS WE ARE VERY BIASED. WE TEND TO REMEMBER ONLY CATASTROPHIC EVENTS IGNORING EVERYTHING ELSE. SO HERE ARE THE FACTS:
  1. There are more than 10,000 planes in the area right now.
  2. There are around 100,000 passenger flights scheduled every day.
  3. According to the bureau of transportation statistics, in 2010 in the US alone 1.73 million people boarded flights every day.
  4. Your pilot and co-pilot and all the stuff flew most of their careers, close to 100 of flights every year.
  5. According to the safety national council, walking is the most dangers way of transportation in terms of fatal accidents.
  6. Commercial aircraft go through extensive testing before they are sold to airlines. Wing flexibility testing requires that the plane’s wings are bent to varying degrees—sometimes up to 90 degrees, which always requires far more force than any plane has ever experienced in actual flight. Wings are very strong and designed to bend and bounce. Ingestion testing involves two separate tests. The first is the bird strike test, where dead chickens are shot into the engines to simulate hitting a bird mid-flight. The windshield is also tested. The second test is the water intake test, where the plane lands in a water covered runway as if there was heavy rainfall.
  7. How often do you inspect your car? The planes are sorely inspected after each flight.
  8. Turbulence is not dangerous. For all intents and purposes, a plane cannot be flipped upside-down, thrown into a tailspin, or otherwise flung from the sky by even the mightiest gust or air pocket. Conditions might be annoying and uncomfortable, but the plane is not going to crash. Turbulence is an aggravating nuisance for everybody, including the crew, but it’s also, for lack of a better term, normal. It is a convenience issue, not a safety issue.
  9. Commercial planes can fly safely with just one engine, and can land without any.
  10. Most aircrafts are hit by the lightening ones in a couple of years, but you would not even know it. You are more likely getting hit by a lightening on your way to your car to get to the airport.
  11. You have a greater chance of dying by falling out of your bed or being killed by a hypo.
  12. It is much more like to die on the plane from choking on your food than from falling out of the sky.
  13. In 2013, 3 billion people flew on the airplanes – that is almost half of the world population. There were only 210 fatalities. Globally, nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year.
  14. Consider that most accidents happened during take-off and landing, and vast majority of this accidents did not have any fatalities.
  15. In total 96% of the passengers survived the crash which is a higher chance than surviving a car crash.
